INTRODUCTION TO FACILITATION

Gain a practical understanding of facilitation. Practice analysing and responding to basic group dynamics as they unfold in facilitation. Learn to use 2-3 key facilitation tools.

BASICS OF FACILITATION

Gain a deeper, practical understanding of facilitation. Practice analysing and responding to basic and advanced group dynamics in facilitated spaces. Learn to design gatherings and facilitate groups in culturally competent ways. Explore strategies to transform conflict in facilitated spaces and learn 6-8 facilitation tools.

Duration: 9 hours online (split into 3-hour blocks)

Capacity: up to 12 participants

FULL IN-PERSON FACILITATION COURSE

All the content covered in Introduction to Facilitation and Basics of Facilitation. Delivered in-person for an in-depth look at analysing and responding to group dynamics and transforming conflict in facilitated spaces.

Gain competency in transferring skills and knowledge to both in-person and virtual settings. Practice facilitation by designing an event, a multi-session gathering, and a discussion. Learn to use 8-10 tools and have access to a facilitation tools user guide.

 

Duration: 3 days in-person

Location: client is responsible for event logistics and venue

SEAN CALLAGHAN

Sean Callaghan has 30 years experience in international development, including over a decade facilitating leadership development — mentoring and coaching social justice activists, civil society leaders and movement catalysts. He now leverages this social capital to bring proven real-world expertise, invaluable grassroots access, and experienced impact pathways to projects. Sean has worked with clients across Africa, the Middle East, the EU and the USA.

GRACE STEWART

Grace Stewart has over 15 years of experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the United States, the United Kingdom, South Sudan, and Kenya. From actively participating in post-conflict restoration initiatives to driving community innovation in response to child abuse, Grace has witnessed firsthand the pivotal role of collaboration in effecting meaningful social change. Grace was honored as one of the West Virginia State Journal's 40 Under 40 in 2017.

The tools you learn in this training are invaluable for facilitating engagement.
